Did Adam and Eve Go to Heaven?

Hi! Welcome back to the Kids Answers magazine blog, where we answer your big questions about God’s Word and God’s world.

Pilar (age 11) and Arianna (age 13) asked,

“Did Adam and Eve go to heaven?”

Thanks for the great question!

The Bible doesn’t say whether or not Adam and Eve are in heaven, so we can’t know for sure. But by looking at God’s Word, we can see that there is a good possibility that they are.

Hebrews 11:4 says this:

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.

Abel, the man mentioned in this verse, was a son of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden of Eden. They also were the first people to sin. Sin is why people in the Old Testament had to make sacrifices.

The verse above tells us that Abel made a sacrifice that pleased God. It also tells us that Abel was commended as righteous and had faith. He most likely learned about these things from his parents. If Adam and Eve taught their son how to have faith, they probably believed God’s truth too. And if they believed in God through faith, then they are in heaven.
