Most of the time, when we talk about magnifying something, we mean to make it bigger so we can study it. We use all kinds of microscopes to zoom in on things our eyes could never see on their own. Just as beautiful sunsets and towering mountains magnify the glory of God, tiny structures on lizards and wasps can equally take our breath away.

Seeing these marvels leads us to magnify their Designer. Here’s how the psalmist put it: “Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3).

In the Bible, people use “magnify” to mean that we should make something bigger or more important in our lives. The more amazed we are by Jesus, the more important He becomes to us—and the more we want to share His marvels with others.

And what message should we make biggest of all? God loves every one of us, and He has provided for our greatest need—forgiveness for our sins. When we turn from our sin and trust Jesus Christ to save us, God is magnified!
