Archaeologists in Israel have found a clay seal that may bear the signature of the biblical prophet Isaiah, whose existence (like so many other figures who left no evidence in archaeology) is disputed by many liberals.

The 2,700-year-old stamped clay artifact was found during an excavation at the foot of the southern wall of Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. Court officials used stamped seals to authenticate documents.

The seal was found just 10 feet from a seal of King Hezekiah, whom Isaiah advised. It is missing some letters, but archaeologists believe it read, “Belonging to Isaiah the prophet.”
