Summary: This book tells us about the life of Samuel, who became a prophet, a priest, and the last judge over Israel. During Samuel’s judgeship, the people rejected him and demanded a king. The Lord sent Samuel to anoint Saul to be the first king over Israel. However, because of Saul’s disobedience, God chose another king—David. Saul became jealous of David and wanted to kill him. But God preserved David and prepared him to become Israel’s greatest king.

About God: God will turn disobedience to His own purposes. He is in control. His plans will be accomplished.
