How old was Jesus when the wise men arrived to worship Him? He could have been almost 2 years old by the time the wise men got there. See Matthew 2:16.

At the time of Jesus’ birth, there was a special star. This star was an incredible act of God—created for a special purpose. The Bible says that the star alerted the magi (“wise men”) to the birth of the Christ child. It seems that they may have been the only ones who saw the star or who realized what it meant. When the magi got to Jerusalem, the star led them to the house where Jesus was living. We don’t know everything about this star, but the things we do know show us clearly that it was very special. It is fitting that God used such an object to announce the birth of Christ since "the heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1).

Read Matthew 2 and see what else God says about this special star.

Parents—for more information about the Star of Bethlehem, see Answers magazine (Oct-Dec. 2006) and the article on page 42 written by Dr. Jason Lisle entitled The Star of Bethlehem.
