Pia asks
Will there be animals in heaven?
The Bible doesn’t give us a clear answer about whether animals will be in heaven. But we do read about one animal in heaven: white horses (Revelation 19:11–14). The horses in this passage carried Christ and the heavenly armies from heaven to earth. But we should remember that this scene from Revelation was a vision that God gave to the Apostle John about God’s judgment on the earth. So these white horses may not have been ordinary, earthly horses like the ones we’re familiar with.
No verses in the Bible talk about animals having eternal life. Animals are not created in the image of God, as humans are, so they don’t have eternal souls.
Though we don’t know for sure if animals will be in heaven, we know that God wants humans to care for his animals and delight in what he has made. We can enjoy our pets and wild animals here on earth. And maybe we will get to enjoy animals in heaven someday, too. But if not, when we get to heaven, we will still be filled with joy to be in the presence of God.

Some scientists believe the universe is expanding. What does that mean and is it true?
In the 1920s, scientists discovered that galaxies were getting farther apart from each other, meaning that the universe must be expanding. Scripture actually teaches this idea!
The Bible mentions in a couple of places that the universe has been stretched out or expanded. For example, Isaiah 40:22 says, “It is he who sits above the circle of the earth . . . who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in.”
About 6,000 years ago, God created the universe and everything in it. This verse in Isaiah indicates that since the creation of the universe, God has been stretching it out and causing it to expand.

Why does God let bad things happen?
When God first created the world about 6,000 years ago, there was no death or suffering. God said everything was “very good.” But when Adam disobeyed God, creation was broken.
Because of sin, bad things happen all the time. People get sick, feel pain, and die. Death and suffering are not God’s fault. They are a punishment for our sin.
Even though we all sin, God sent his Son, Jesus, into the world to pay the penalty for sin on the cross. Then Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, victorious over sin and death (John 3:16). If you are a follower of Jesus and have received his forgiveness for your sins, you can look forward to the day when there will be no more sickness, death, or suffering (Revelation 21:4)

Why isn’t a clover a good example of the Trinity?
The Trinity is an important belief of the Christian faith. It is the belief that there is only one God in three distinct persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14).
Long ago in Ireland, a missionary named St. Patrick used a three-leaf clover to illustrate the Trinity. He said, “Do you not see how in this wildflower three leaves are united on one stalk, and will you not then believe that there are indeed three persons and yet one God?”
But this illustration does not accurately describe the Trinity because it breaks up the unity of God. A clover represents three parts (the leaves) coming together to make one thing (the clover). But each leaf of a clover is separate and distinct from the other leaves.
In the Trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each fully God. They are distinct persons, yet they’re completely one—not separate parts that make up God.
The Trinity is hard to understand, but we can trust God to tell us the truth about himself in his Word. No analogy (word picture) can really illustrate who he is.
