Tiny the Cougar
Nice to meet you! I’m Tiny.
I’m a baby cougar, and I love exploring the world I recently entered. There’s so much to see and do in the great outdoors! My mom is big and strong, since cougars are one of the largest cats in the world. She told me that one day I’ll grow big and strong too. I’m so excited! But for now, I’ll have fun squeezing into caves and thickets only little me can fit into.
Did you know that Jesus was also a tiny baby once? Before that, he created the entire universe—how amazing! In the book of John, Jesus is called the Word. John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory . . . full of grace and truth.” He became a baby because God loves you, and he showed us God’s glory in an incredible way. Jesus became Immanuel, which means “God with us.”
You sin when you disobey your parents or teachers, but Jesus always did what was right. When he grew up into a man, he died on a cross. Since he was perfect, he didn’t deserve that punishment. But he died to take the punishment for your sins if you believe in him. On the third day, Jesus rose to life again, and he promises to give eternal life to his children.
Sometimes, I get sad or scared, and my mom has to comfort me. Whenever you’re sad or scared, remember that Jesus became a baby to give you life (John 10:10) and that he is with you and will never leave you (Hebrews 13:5–6).
