The word science means “knowledge,” and the Creator God is the author of all knowledge. Science helps us explore, study, and understand his amazing creation. When we study the world around us, we learn about what God made and how he designed everything to work together perfectly.
The Bible clearly tells us that God created everything in six days (Genesis 1). The Bible also provides family history, and using that information, we know that creation occurred about 6,000 years ago. Everything we see—from microscopic bugs to distant stars—confirms God’s incredible creativity and power. When scientists discover how animals function or how plants grow, they are uncovering God’s brilliant design.
Scientists are like detectives who ask questions, make observations, and do experiments. We call this process the scientific method. The scientific method is only possible because God created an orderly universe that allows scientists to ask a question and then test it. Scientists study plants, animals, rocks, stars, fossils, humans, and everything else in creation.
To be a scientist is exciting because you learn more about who God is. Romans 1:20 tells us:
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
You can be a young scientist too! Study God’s creation and praise him for his amazing design.
