Mighty the Bison
Hi, kids! I’m Mighty the bison because, well, I am big and mighty!
I am the biggest land mammal in North America, and I live in the great plains and open prairie. God gave us bison everything we need to thrive here—big thick coats to stay warm in the winter, when temps can drop way below zero and the wind stirs up a blizzard. I have two coats, but they look way different from yours! My thick undercoat traps in heat to keep my body warm, and my outercoat has long hairs to block the wind and water.
Even though I’m big, I can run up to 35 miles per hour for a half hour, and while I can’t see things that are far away very well, I can just follow my nose and use my ears because they work great! My huge shoulders and strong legs help me plow through big snowdrifts in the winter—I am built just right for life on the prairie!
As big and mighty as I am, there is someone much more powerful and mighty than me—Jesus! Jesus showed how powerful he is when he healed people, calmed the storms, lived a sinless life, and came back to life after he died and had been buried for three days. He showed that he has power over sickness and disease, over nature, over sin, and over death. Jesus is mighty—he is our mighty God—and he cares for every single person and wants a relationship with each of us. How amazing is that?!
