How Are Comets Proof of Creation?
Jul 14, 2025
Hi! Welcome back to the Kids Answers magazine blog, where we answer your big questions about God’s Word and God’s world.
Sam (age 12) asked,
“How are comets proof of creation?”
Thanks for the question, Sam!
Lots of things in creation are evidence that confirms the Bible’s account, and comets are one of those things!
Comets are frozen balls of ice and dust that orbit the sun. When they come close to the sun, the sun’s heat evaporates (the liquid turns into a gas) some of the comet’s ice.
Evolutionists believe comets are billions of years old. But comets aren’t very big, and they get smaller during every orbit. They cannot be billions of years old because they wouldn’t last that long. The better explanation is that the comets in our solar system are still there because they’re not billions of years old. Instead, they are no more than a few thousand years old because God created everything just about 6,000 years ago.
