Letter—New Testament

Author: Paul

Date Written: AD 50

Chapters: 6

Key People: Paul, Peter, false teachers

Summary: The letter to the Galatians was written to Jews and Gentiles who had come to faith in Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, the Jewish believers insisted that the non-Jewish believers obey their laws. This caused tension in the church. Paul explained in his letter that no sinner saved through Jesus Christ stands under the Law any longer. But all believers, no matter what their background, are justified by faith alone through Christ alone. And the faith believers have in Christ brings freedom from the law of sin and death.

About Jesus: The gospel of Jesus Christ offers freedom from sin and guilt to everyone who believes. Christians are not free to disobey Christ but are free to serve Him from a forgiven and grateful heart.
